Sollio Cooperative Group is committed to respecting and protecting the privacy of Internet users ("Users") through its online donation and sponsorship submission platform, over the telephone or through any other means of communication. The purpose of this privacy policy (the "Policy") is to inform Users of how we collect, hold, use, disclose and protect their personal information, including over the telephone, by email, and on our platfom www.commandites.sollio.coop. When we use the term "personal information", it includes any information about an individual that can be used to identify that individual, including name, address, email address, contact information, and IP address.

We act in strict compliance with the privacy legislation applicable to us, including the Civil Code of Quebec and the Civil Code of Quebec respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector (RLRQ, c. P-39.1). If the User has not already done so, we ask him or her to read this Policy before using our Platform or providing us with personal information in any way. If the User does not agree with the terms of this Policy, the User is requested to stop using our Platform and not to provide us with any Personal Information. We also recommend that the User review this Policy from time to time as it may be changed or updated from time to time at our sole discretion.

The use of the word "we" in the Policy refers collectively to Sollio Cooperative Group, its subsidiaries (Olymel and BMR and its division, Sollio Agriculture).  

 

Summary

We collect the following information:

  • Personal information that the User provides to us on a voluntary basis;

  • Information that the User's browser regularly shares with websites (such as IP address, language, user name, data on preferences and use of the Platform);

  • Personal information required for the purpose of attributing a donation, sponsorship, scholarship, financial aid, service or any other commodity offered through the Platform, in connection with the applicant's project (such as financial data and bank details);

  • Personal information required for documentation and analysis of the application (such as names, addresses and telephone numbers).

 

The Platform uses the following tracking technologies:

  • Cookies, web beacons, and similar motion tracking technologies across the Platform keep track of Users and visitors to our site and their preferences;

  • We may use third party service providers, such as Google Analytics, to perform analysis of our Site's services. 

Other details about our practices:

This Policy completes the Terms and Conditions of Use for Sollio Cooperative Group's donation and sponsorship request platform and this Policy applies only to the www.commandites.sollio.coop website and the information collected through that site and does not apply to any other information or website not owned or operated by us. For the corporate site www.sollio.coop or for the website of one of the subsidiaries or divisions of Sollio Cooperative Group, their retailers or partners, the User shall refer to the privacy policy of the site concerned.

 

Why we collect personal information

We collect only the personal information that is necessary for our relationship with the User. We limit the type of information we collect and use to the personal information required to manage our relationship with the User, to respond to the User's request, to provide services in connection with the attribution of donations, sponsorships, scholarships, financial assistance, services or any other merchandise offered via the Platform, to ensure good customer service and to otherwise operate the Platform. In particular, we may collect Personal Information:

- When the User submits an application via the Platform;

- When identifying information is required to fulfill the request made by the User.

- If banking information is provided, we will collect the bank location, transit number and associated bank account number. In the event that a credit card is used for purchases, we will collect User's credit card information, including the CVV number.

 

When you use the Platform

In order to ensure adequate and quality service and to improve the customer experience, identifying information may be collected when the User logs in to the User account, such as name, password, mailing address, telephone number and email address.

When the User calls or emails customer service, in order to ensure quality service, the User may be asked for identifying information, such as name and a contact telephone number, if he or she contacts us regarding the use of the Platform or a service offered on the Platform or other matter.

 

How we collect Personal Information

We collect the User's personal information in person or on our Platform, over the phone, by email or in any other way, generally for the purpose of ensuring the efficient operation of the Platform and its features. 

When the User visits our Platform, we may record information that the User's web browser regularly shares with websites. This information may include the User's browser type, browser language, IP address, and the date and time of the User's visit. This information is collected on an anonymous basis, and we do not attempt to match it with the User's personal information.

When the User visits our Platform, he or she is given the option to consent or not to the sharing of the User's information with our affiliates and divisions or partners. 

 

Social Media

When the User communicates or interacts with us via social media (e.g., Twitter, Facebook, Linkedin or Youtube), the User is advised that any personal information that the User publicly submits through shares of our content, posts or comments mentioning Sollio Cooperative Group or content that we post on social media may be read, collected or otherwise used by anyone who has access to that forum or who visits the URL of the web page on which the User's content, post or comment is posted. We are not responsible for any use of this information by any third party and refer the User to the applicable privacy policies for each of these social media.

Use of Cookies

As is common practice on websites, we sometimes use cookies and similar technologies to track our visitors. A "cookie" is a small text file containing alphanumeric characters that is stored on the User's computer and identifies the User's browser individually. We also sometimes use cookies along with web beacons to help us track how visitors navigate our website.

If the User does not wish to accept cookies, the "help" section of their browser toolbar will help them learn how to prevent their browser from accepting cookies, how to have their browser notify them when they receive a new cookie, or how to disable cookies altogether. However, if the User disables cookies, the User may not be able to take advantage of all the features of our Platform.

 

What we do with the personal information we collect

In general, we may use User's Personal Information for the following purposes:

  • To identify applicants for donations, sponsorships, scholarships, financial assistance, services or other commodities offered through the Platform in order to establish and maintain relationships with them;

  • To respond to User requests for information;

  • For marketing, market analysis and survey purposes, to the extent provided by law and to improve our service;

  • To analyze in order to grant a donation, sponsorship or scholarship to an applicant's project, a financial aid, a service or any other commodity offered through the Platform, including to process banking information, to agree on a contractual agreement and to allow the use of the brand image in an appropriate manner

  • To control the quality of customer service and prevent errors and fraud.

In order to operate our Platform and for purposes of hosting and maintaining the personal information collected, we may need to share information with our affiliates, divisions or business partners. We and third parties will use the personal information we collect only for the purposes identified above and will maintain equivalent safeguards. For example, we may share information with our affiliates, partners or divisions so that they can analyze a User's request, to provide a donation, sponsorship, scholarship or other financial assistance, service or commodity offered by the affiliate, division or partner in response to the User's request, to provide the User with services, and to assist us in collecting, analyzing and evaluating our information, or to provide any other support services for the Platform and its use. We may also use external expertise for the purpose of evaluating the investments made. 

The Platform may eventually contain tools that will allow the User to purchase products and services, such as an online store. In order to use these tools, the User may have to provide information about him/herself, such as a credit card number, name, surname, postal address and e-mail address. The Platform will use the User's information to provide the service that the tool offers to the User, for example, to assist the User in ordering and delivering products and services. Except as otherwise set forth in this Policy, we will not use personal information collected by these tools for any other purpose without the User's prior express written permission.

We may choose to disclose personal information without prior notice in response to requests from law enforcement or governmental agencies; to respond to subpoenas, court orders, or requests for information from administrative agencies; to enforce our contracts or property rights; to protect ourselves or others; or when required or otherwise permitted by law. For example, we may share information to reduce the risk of fraud or when someone is using or attempting to use our Platform for illegal purposes. Information we collect may also be shared in connection with a sale or merger of the company or its divisions or its related business lines.

 

Username and Password

In order to access his account, User must create and use his username and password for all subsequent use sessions. User shall use them only for lawful purposes. The User is fully responsible for them and for the consequences of any use made of them by the User or any other person, including the consequences of any illegal operation committed through the use of the User name and password. The User is required to take all necessary precautions to preserve the confidentiality of the User name and password for security reasons. In particular, User shall not disclose to any person, or allow any person to use the password, except to an authorized representative of User. It is strongly recommended to choose a password that only the User knows and whose components cannot be easily traced back to the User. It is also recommended that User change his or her password regularly and log off at the end of the session.

If User becomes aware of any unauthorized use of User's username or password, or if User fears that another person has become aware of it, or if User believes that it has been lost or stolen, User should notify us immediately.

All usernames and passwords are ultimately administered by Sollio Cooperative Group via the Platform support team, which reserves the right, at any time and at its sole discretion, to suspend or cancel them without prior notice. 


 

Your consent

By providing us with personal information, the User consents to our collection, use and disclosure of such information for the purposes described in this Policy. By using our Platform, the User consents to our collection, use and disclosure of certain anonymous information combined with the User's IP address in accordance with this Policy. If we choose to use personal information already in our custody for a purpose not identified at the time we originally collected the information, we will seek the consent of the affected Users before using the information for that new purpose, unless obtaining such consent is not required by law in those specific circumstances.

Except for personal information required by law, Users may withdraw their consent to all or part of the collection, use and disclosure of their personal information at any time by giving us reasonable prior notice. If the User prefers that we do not collect, use or disclose his or her personal information or that we do not use his or her personal information, the User is requested to contact us. We will carry out the User's instructions as soon as possible, subject to contractual or legal restrictions, but we may not be able to immediately stop certain uses of the User's information. The User is advised that withdrawal of consent may prevent us from providing certain services to the User.

 

Storage

The User's personal information may be hosted and/or stored by our suppliers or Partners located outside Quebec or Canada (e.g., United States). In this case, we, our suppliers and our Partners will at all times comply with this Policy and maintain equivalent security measures that comply with applicable legal obligations. 

We will only retain User's personal information for a reasonable period of time, consistent with the provisions of the Act, in order to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected. 

Links to other websites

The website may contain links to other websites not affiliated with us. Also, the User may have been directed to this website by another website that is not operated by us. We are not responsible for the operation of these other websites or the information they collect about their visitors. If the User wants to know how another website collects and uses his/her information, the User is directed to the privacy policy of that website.

 

Updates to this Policy

Our business and the laws that govern us change from time to time, and we reserve the right to change this Policy. If we change this Policy, we will post the updated version on this website.
